Merry Christmas Slayer!
I have been a bit obsessed with Slayer lately. Rather than putting up something everyone has seen or heard, here are some inspired interpretations of classic Slayer songs. Merry Christmas!
A cappella Slayer! Yowza!
Dokaka - Angel Of Death (mp3)
Dictionaraoke Slayer!
Brain Explode - South Of Heaven (mp3)
String Quartet Slayer!
The String Quartet - Expendable Youth (mp3)
Commodore 64 Sid Chip Tune Slayer!
??? - War Ensemble (mp3)
Listen to the great approximated flailing guitar solo.
Lunatic - War Ensemble (mp3)
Lunatic - Seasons In The Abyss (mp3)
NES Chip Tune Slayer!
lonytynch - Angel Of Death (mp3)
If you know of any other odd Slayer covers, please leave a comment. Don't bother if you're going to mention Tori Amos or Modest Mouse.

I would have gone with "what fun it is to laugh and sing a Slayer song tonight!" for the title, but pretty cool post nevertheless. Dokaka is amazing of course, and also the NES chip rendition of "Angel Of Death" sounds uncannily like it should be theme music for a Castlevania knockoff or some kind.
Also, the prolific wckr spgt have a barely recognizable, folk-ish rendition of South Of Heaven that may be of interest.
Holy Shit - this is frickin' amazing! Reminds me of an old zine called Hessian Obsession that had Slayer crosswords.... I think there was also an SF Slayer Xmass cover band called Sleigher. Fuckin' awesome!
I really should have tried to get a better picture of it, but for at least the second year in a row in Tucson there's a house that has done up X-Mas lights on their porch in the Slayer logo.
Here's a pair of low-rez phone pics that hint at its beauty.

I thought you might enjoy these pictures and sounds. Um a big fan 2.
Is there any Sleigher on CD? Or MP3s? Their webpage only appears to have one tune on it...
Thanks great poost
